I have enjoyed prepping for Thanksgiving so much this year. This is the first time I’ve hosted our families, and it gave me an excuse to
get my act together hang pictures, finish slipcovers, sew table linens and complete some crafts. In fact, I’ve been so occupied with prepping for the holiday that I haven’t thought of Christmas once yet. Splend.
Here’s a peek at my table, which cost me practically nothing:
The banner is a free download from ruffled blog; the ribbon I hung it from is from the dollar store.
(Dollar store ribbon rules.)
Making the pumpkins was very inexpensive. You can make several pumpkins out of one yard of stretch velvet, which was on sale for $3/yard at Joannes last week. I bought one yard each of five colors (grey, light grey, cream, white & gold).
And here is a place setting:
I combined my Grandma Oma’s china with Persimmon Fiestaware (which is not flourescent orange as it appears in this iphone photo). Each person will have their own velvet pumpkin. I printed out this free download and used it as a placecard for each person.
The tablecloth is an old, soft, Gap t-shirt sheet, queen size.
What’s on your table?
